The Kentucky Derby, “The Run for the Roses”
Est. in 1875 the Kentucky Derby is a race for three-year-old thoroughbred horses, and is held on the first saturday of may (today) in louisville, kentucky. the race is 1.25 miles on a dirt course, and the winning horse is draped with red roses. the kentucky derby is a very intense and exhilarating two minute race. us new englanders absolutely love the races, and is something we anticipate every year. big hats, mint juleps, and tons of betting.
